It’s summer. And that means trips to the pool, going to the beach, camping out, barbeques and a variety of other outdoor events.
And while you enjoy soaking up all that sun, your hair may retaliate. Rather than stress about summer frizz, you can take the necessary steps to prevent it!
According to an InStyle.com article, one great way to combat frizz is a do-it-yourself keratin treatment. There are a variety of products available for this very purpose- some contain harsh chemicals and some don’t. It’s important to read the labels before doing anything, especially if you have color-treated hair.
Women who have naturally curly hair often go to great lengths to straighten it. But the moment you step outside, humidity and heat take over and all your hard work unravels in a matter of minutes. Rather than waste time, a Huffington Post article recommended that those with curly hair simply invest in hair gel, mousse and a diffuser and go for a natural look. Spritz your curls with an anti-frizz serum and you are ready to go!
Conditioning hair is also crucial to winning the battle against Frizz. A Times of India article suggested using a leave-in conditioner, or not washing out all of your normal conditioner when showering. The conditioner will help weigh your hair down and protect against humidity.
And as nasty as it sounds, A Style Goes Strong article recommended not washing your hair every day. Having natural oils can help minimize fizziness. If you feel really gross about not shampooing daily, try a dry shampoo in between washes.
Another very simple solution for avoiding frizz is to put your hair up. Buns, chignons, twists and braids are all in style. Add a couple cute clips, barrettes, pins or flowers and you are ready to go!
