It may seem like an odd type of business, but Harper’s Bazar reported that “beauty bars” are popping up across the country. In reality, beauty bars are single-service business dedicated to providing services such as manicures, blowouts, makeup applications or highlights. The catch? While you get your treatment, you also get a drink!

One particular company, whose actual name is Beauty Bar, is world’s only beauty salon that features the original “Manicure and Martini” happy hour. With locations in Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, Brooklyn and New York, Beauty Bar is often a fun destination for events like girl’s night out, a bachelorette party or a birthday celebration.

Walk-ins are accepted, but parties of six or more are asked to make a reservation. Because alcohol is served, Beauty Bar guests must be 21 or older. According to the company website, many locations offer a manicure and a drink for only $10. Of course, that doesn’t include a tip for the bartender of beauty technician, but still. That’s a good price!

An October 2012 Wall Street Journal article reports that makeup bars are gaining popularity in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New Orleans. These businesses cater to women who want full-face makeup done for a special occasion, like a business dinner, anniversary party, etc. According to the WSJ, the average cost for a makeup treatment is about $40, and many businesses provide a free glass of wine.
